changed

some seek to be filled up
some desire a fullness
i seek a flowing
a passing through
i long to be an empty vessel
i don't crave nothingness
rather a desire to allow
all that comes my way
flow through me both
good and bad dark and
light the lilt of the highs
the sway of the lows
for how else can
i be changed if i
remain filled with the
past?

perfect!

Marilyn, it's funny; I know what you mean. I want to be like a piece of rigatoni (you know that tube-shaped hollow pasta) so that the spirit of the universe can flow thru!

You have such a creative soul!! Beautiful

wow. that is an {amazing} poem. it resonated with me. thank you x

Great imagery, Marilyn.
I like the idea of being an 'empty vessel' for everything to flow through, rather than filling up and stagnating.

this is beautiful - such a good reminder to flow with the Universe :)

Hi Marilyn. I love this poem. This is one I should print and hang by my door so that I can read it each time I'm about to go out into the world. I was particularly happy with the sound of the line created by your breaks: "light the lilt of the highs"--that's just a fun line to say over and over.

You are so tuned into the balance that is the universe... awesome! ;)
