Dear, sweet Leah nominated me for a Thinking Blogger Award. It's especially gracious of her since I feel like I've done very little thinking here lately. Leah and I go back about 3-1/2 years, since I first started blogging. I know that many of you are big fans of hers--as am I--so it goes without saying that she's a big source of inspiration for me.
I'm now supposed to continue the meme by nominating five bloggers for this award. That's a tough one, since I read so many wonderful blogs and have so many dear blogging pals. I've seen several of my favorites already nominated on various blogs, so I think I'll go with some that some of you might not be as familiar with.
~ Let me start with Evelyn Rodriguez. I've been reading Crossroads Dispatches for years. I think Evelyn is one of the most inspirational and unique bloggers out there. If you're not familiar with her blog, prepare to be blown away. Every single post is a gem, in my opinion.
~ Solbeam is another one who's long been a source of deep inspiration. She doesn't just do inspiring things--she lives an inspiring life. I always feel my perspective shifting after reading one of her posts.
~ Funchilde is traveling around the world on Semester at Sea. She writes incredibly thoughful posts about the places she visits--far beyond the usual travelogues. She's a thinking traveler and a damn good writer.
~ I realize this might be breaking the rules a bit since this one is a group blog and not an individual one, but anyone who's read here for the last year must know by now what a transformative experience Poetry Thursday has been for me. It's challenged me and scared me and encouraged me and cheered me on and helped me to take a huge step outside my comfort zone. It's been a life-changing experience. And with the launch of the redesigned site last month, it's been a daily source of food for thought.
~ This last one is a new site, but a powerful one. It's Keri Smith's Wreck This Journal, the site that precedes the publication of her book of the same name in June. I've been reading Keri's blog for as long as I've been blogging and she always makes me think, but her latest project really made me turn my thinking cap around. Check out the Flickr photo pool and you'll see what I mean.
Those are the five blogs I nominate for a Thinking Blogger Award. Hope you enjoy them.

WHAT!!!? You didn't nominate ME for the Thinking Blogger Awards? Haven't you been keeping up with my hairdo posts? ;-D
(Can't wait to check out your nominees--Yay Leah for nominating California Fever!)

Thanks so much Marilyn for your nomination. Oh, I don't know so much about "Thinking" though. Just one of the senses. How about a Tasting blogger award or Seeing blogger award or Touching blogger award or Hearing blogger award? Namaste.

Marilyn! I'm so flattered, half the time I'm blogging about beer around the world and cooking classes or some such craziness. Love CF and am honored to have made your short list along with fellow travel blogger solbeam.
