break the mold that's
grown around your
forgotten desires open
the windows and let the
air circulate around your
spirit so you can hold
your heart in your
hands until its wings
unfurl break the slumber
that's become your
mind's thoughts the
numbing drumming of
doubts that have formed
the backbeat of your
life write a new
soundtrack and
storyboard your dreams
casting yourself to the
winds as star

If you were to make a film of your life, who would you want to star as YOU? My first choices? Probably Carrie-Ann Moss or Catherine Keener.

"Open the windows and let the
air circulate around your
spirit" I love that phrase. I may post you poem up on my wall later today... it feels like a breath of fresh air. :o)
If I were to make a film about my life, I would like to star as myself of course!!! But if I couldn't... I'd probably pic Julia Roberts or Angelina Joli. They both have that "tough but fragile" thing going on, and I love that,

Mmmmmm, very nice.
My movie---I'd like to be played by Matthew Broderick. And Nathan Lane---at the same time. :-)

I love the intention of this poem. And the sounds of it. I also appreciate the unusual line breaks used to create great lines like: "forgotten desires open" which create a meaning completely separate from the syntax of the more explicit "sentences." Thanks for sharing this one.

In the movie of my life (a cheesy movie-of-the-week), I would want Jill Scott to play me.
